Golf Courses Around Mount Vernon, Ohio

Vernon View Golf Course

Vernon View Golf Course, also known as the Hiawatha Golf Course, was originally designed by Jack Kidwell in 1962. It features rolling hills, large groves of mature trees, and a number of lakes and small creeks. The course has bluegrass fairways and bent grass greens. Besides the 18-hole course, the site has a driving range, chipping area, and putting green. Course length is 6,721 yards. Par is 72, rating it 71.8, and slope is 121.

Vernon View Golf Course has been owned by the same family since its inception and is known for its friendly atmosphere and reasonable fees. Prices are exceptionally low on Monday through Thursday, especially for walkers. If you're looking for an inexpensive place to enjoy a relaxing day of golf, Vernon View Golf Course is an excellent choice.

Chapel Hill Golf Course

Chapel Hill Golf Course was designed by Barry Serafin in 1996. The site was originally Mount Vernon Bible College. The college's chapel was converted into Chapel Hill's clubhouse. The 18-hole course was designed to accommodate golfers of all skill levels. It is located among rolling hills, with great views of the surrounding countryside. The course has a number of water hazards and unusual elevation changes.

Fairways are a combination of bluegrass and ryegrass, and greens are bent grass. Course length is 6,856 yards. Par is 72, rating is 72.6, and slope is 128. Besides the 18-hole course, Chapel Hill Golf Course has an excellent full driving range, a chipping area, and a putting green.

Wyandot Golf and Dining

Wyandot Golf and Dining (Wyandot Golf Course), designed by Noah Salyer, has been open since 1978. The course is primarily flat, with lots of trees and a few wooded areas. Ponds, creeks, and sand bunkers are scattered along the course, making for interesting holes. Overall, Wyandot Golf Course is a great place for beginners to improve their game, while still providing a challenge for experienced golfers.

The fairways at Wyandot Golf Course are bluegrass, and the greens are bent grass. Course length 6,422 yards. Par is 72, rating is 70.3, and slope is 111. The site also has a driving range, chipping area, and putting green for you to practice on.

If you decide to visit Wyandot, make sure to stop by the onsite restaurant, Eggmann's Eatery. Open for breakfast and lunch, the restaurant offers a wide variety of unique meals, such as That's Bananas waffles, Waffle "Charcuterie" Board, and their one-of-a-kind Double Smash Burger. Irish Hills Golf Club

Irish Hills Golf Club features one of the oldest courses in the Mount Vernon area. The first nine Irish Hills Golf Club features one of the oldest courses in the Mount Vernon area. The first nine holes of the course were designed in 1928; the back nine in 1984. The result is a single course with two unique layouts. In general, the front nine is considered more of a challenge due to rolling hills and heavier vegetation.

Fairways are bluegrass, and greens are bent grass. Course length 6,503 yards. Par is 71, rating is 69.9, and slope is 115. Rates at Irish Hills Golf Club are very affordable, especially for walkers on weekdays. The club does not have a driving range. It does have a chipping area and a putting area.

Table Rock Golf Club

Table Rock Golf Club opened in 1973 and was designed by Jack Kidwell. The course is known for the large numbers of trees that line its fairways. This is especially true on the back nine, which is also narrower than is the front nine. The course has large greens, rolling hills, and a number of water hazards.

Fairways are bent grass, and greens are bluegrass. Course length is 6,771. Par is 72, rating is 71.4, and slope is128. Table Rock Golf Club does not have a driving range or chipping area, but they do have a putting green where you can practice.
